The meaning of kindness

This work was inspired by comments in a WhatsApp group created by local residents of Western Park.

They responded to my 'call out' asking for their thoughts and feelings about the word 'kindness' and what it personally means to them.

The selected text and comments are from acquaintances as well as anonymous contributors and were collected in April during the early day battles with self isolation from the CV19 outbreak of 2020.

Small 'help' groups materialised out of nowhere, they have bonded the local community, simple things have had an impact, from getting food, checking on neighbours, just waving hello and offering support to our key workers.

It has been a bizarre situation for the local area, country and the world, but the genuine kindness of people has really made a difference to everyone.
